As a 3rd Line Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working on cloud migrations and infrastructure projects of varying sizes.
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line support and working with the remote support team to resolve incidents both remotely and onsite at customer premises.
  • Working on client builds, preparing endpoint hardware, tailoring installations to client requirements, and ensuring all technology is set up in line with business standards.
  • Documenting details of hardware and software configurations.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Good hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows 10.
  • Knowledge and understanding of virtualisation (ideally VMware) and backup technologies (ideally Veeam).
  • Proficiency in anti-virus solutions, firewalls, wireless technologies, networking (e.g., VLANs and Layer-3 setup), and key security principles.
  • A valid driving license for travel.
  • Experience working for an IT Managed Service Provider would be advantageous.

Location: While some remote working is available, this project-based role requires you to travel to customer sites (Dorset/Hampshire), sometimes at short notice, with occasional overnight stays as needed. You will also need to attend the office periodically. Therefore, you should be located in the local Dorset/Hampshire area.

Working Hours: The support desk operates between 7.00am – 5.30pm with three working patterns, 07.00am – 3.30pm, 8.30am – 5.00pm and 09.00am – 5.30pm. The pattern will be determined at point of offer.
